Subject:PDF - Print vs. Export (using InDesign)

Greetings this is my 1st post --
I am submitting a PDF for review and notice a big difference in file size using InDesign using Print Book and Export Book to PDF commands in the Master Book.indb windows fly-out menu.

Well maybe regardless of the fact I am using InDesign in this matter but when I use the "Print Book" command and run the book through Distiller the file size is about 20MB and the pictures look much darker and crisper.

Using the Export Book to PDF command the file size is about 80MB and the pictures look much lighter in density (but still look GREAT).

** In both final tests I make sure to turn off all compression and downsizing, why would the "Export Book to PDF" command be 4x as large????

Anybody know why this may happen?
*** I am using InDesign CS v3.0 and have acrobat 6 pro on my computer

There are many differences. One crucial difference is that
printing will flatten all transparency.

(Note that you shouldn't turn off compression completely, it's
just a waste. If you want lossless compression, use ZIP - maybe
called Flate).
