Hello from a Novice! I have Acrobat Professional v6 for the PC and v5 for the Mac. I've created some PDF forms and am not familiar with much more than Acrobat's basic capabilities. Can anyone please: (A) inform me if it is possible to create a PDF file to do the following and if so, (B) is there a resource or plug-in that could assist me to accomplish this task should I attempt to take it as far as I can, and/or (C) provide me with your bid to take on this project:

I want to create a PDF document to email my customers who only have "Acrobat Reader" for the PC or Mac. I want the PDF document to have a (signature?) field which, upon clicking, will: (1) prompt the customer to enter a password with verification only that any password of their choosing must be entered and, (2) suggest that they write the password down on a separate piece of paper.

Thereupon saving the password (which, if possible, I would prefer be saved within the PDF file itself - not in a separate file), the PDF file must automatically (via script?) lock the signature field itself plus 3 other fields and (also preferably automatically) open the customer's email client if it isn't already open, and attach itself to a new email message (pre-addressed from an editable mailto: email address within a script embedded within the PDF file?), and; the PDF file should also paste canned text within the body of the email message (informing the customer that the email must be transmitted back to me from their same email address that I already have on file) plus, the PDF file should either: (A) automatically enter the aforementioned password into the body of the email message or, (B) request the customer manually re-enter that password within the body of the email message - in which case I would 'prefer' that the password my customer types into the email message body be verified against the password they previously created when clicking on the PDF (signature?) field (however, such verification it isn't absolutely necessary if the required interaction between the PDF attachment and their email client isn't possible). After my receipt of this email message containing the PDF attachment and upon my attempt to open the PDF file, it should prompt me to enter the correct password or fail to open/print, etc.

Aandi - The question and opportunity is:

1. Do you know if Acrobat Pro can create a document that will perform the tasks summarized in paragraphs two and three of my post? That is: Is it possible to do this with Acrobat Pro?

2. If so, are you aware of any resources or plug-ins that could assist me to produce an Acrobat file that will do this if I were to try to bring the project as far as I can by myself?

3. Please provide me with your bid to produce an Acrobat document that will perform the tasks summarized in paragraphs two and three of my post (that is, if an Acrobat document capable of doing these tasks is possible).

I would like the opportunity to discuss your requirements for the work
you've described in your e-mail message below.

My company, OnLine Forms Communications (OLF), does all types of customized
work to prepare forms and other documents for OLF to gather error-free data
from data filers, securely transmit it over the Internet, and load it
directly into the data-user's database.

When the data to be delivered is entered on forms, we always start with the
data-user's forms and proceed in conjunction with the data user to get
everything correct, tested, and approved by the data user before the forms
'go live', thus keeping our clients in control at all times.

Also, OLF is a performance based contractor, meaning we don't have an
up-front charge, but we collect a small fee per form data submission. This
fee is generally about 25% of the total cost that the data user experiences,
or would experience, if they were to start with paper forms and end up with
error-free data in their applications database.

Thus, I would be interested in performing this work as describe in "(C)" in
the first paragraph of you message below.
