Subject:Save and lock

Hello,

I wonder if anyone know if there is a way to make a PDF saveable once. I want a Acrobat Reader user be able to read and fill out my form, then save it. but once saved I dont want them to be able to edit the info they have inserted.

And locally, not on server.

How "hard" should this locking be? Meaning, how much effort do you
allow to bypass the locking?

If it is for the "noral" user, it would be sufficient to add a
"willSave" event setting all fields to read-only (if you still need
the fields as fields), or to flatten the document (using the
flattenPages() method). If it has to be "harder" you will have to add
a digital signature, which then will allow you to localize
modifications.

Hope, this can help.

Note that if your users want to cheat you, they can simply save a copy of the non saved form, and fill this copy again and again whenever they want to change the data they once entered.
A digital signature with a timestamp from a reliable provider can do the work for you
