| Subject: | prevent documen from closing itself |
My Master PDF contains hundreds of links to other documents but it closes itself automatically when another file is opened, no matter how app.openInPlace is set.
This happens only because the link says "go to a page in another document ..." and not if it would say "open a file...". Unfortunately I have not found a way to create the second kind of link through scripting in inDesign where the PDF is being generated.
Does anyone have an idea how to either convert the first to the second kind of link or to prevent the document from closing iteself automatically.
Thanks, johnm.

Did you disable the entry 'Open cross-document links in same window' ?

No matter how I set the "cross platform..." preference and how I set app.openInPlace, the calling file closes itself.
Even opening this file again in the called document on entry or under "will close" does not do the trick.

I must specify my last comment. In Acrobat 6 I am able to re-open the old document when closing, but in Adobe Reader 9 this does not work.
