Subject:strip 9.0 xref data from documents

I have a ton of documents that started as v8.0, were edited
with v9, and now will not split using ARTS split pro because they
do not support v9.0 docs (Xref error). Does anyone know of a
way that I can strip the v9.0 xref data out of these documents,
or make them appear as documents created with a previous
version of Acrobat?

I guess it depends what you mean by "a ton".

You could run Acrobat in a Batch Process that removes Acrobat 9
compression, etc. See the Optimizer in Acrobat Professional.

If it's a server job, you could use pdfHarmony.
